Dee Everson.  Local Artist & Mosaicist

"There's such beauty in colored glass.  I love all the textures, transparent qualities and intense colors... especially when the light pours through the pieces and my art comes ALIVE."

Deana "Dee" Everson is an artist residing in Orland Park, IL. She holds a degree in Graphic Design from the American Academy of Art (Chicago) and studied at the Chicago School of Mosaics. She loves to experiment with a variety of textures, colors and sizes in her works; thus developing her strong love for mosaics.  Dee explores and enjoys all kinds of mediums, but finds herself most enamored by colored glass.

Besides art, some of Dee's other passions include serving people, knowing the Lord, and enjoying a good cup of coffee. For over 15 years, the Lord provided opportunities for her to pursue all these passions simultaneously, managing her home church’s coffee shop ministry, The Clay Cup, located in Lemont, IL.

In 2002, Dee's love of Jesus, mosaics, and stained glass inspired her to develop the curriculum for Peace by Piece, a Women's Mosaic Bible Study Curriculum where women explore their relationship with Jesus - leading to a discovery of God’s intentional design for their own lives.  In Peace by Piece, ladies create their own mosaic charger plate symbolizing their relationship with the Lord throughout an 8-week study.

Over the years, Dee has used her artistic talents to bless her local community and church, where much of her artwork has been donated. You will find a few pieces of Dee's artwork on display locally at restaurants, schools, churches, and galleries. Some of her fine artwork is for sale within Dee's Mosaic Collection or on display at Skidmore Art Gallery in Galena, IL.

Dee has been married to her loving and adventurous husband, Dave for over 30 years and is an active mother to three young adults: Corrie, Allie and Zach.  She loves spending time outdoors enjoying nature with her family and photography because it captures all the tiny details of creation. It is all these "things" that inspire Dee as an artist.

Currently, Dee offers a variety of creativity classes for both women and children in Chicagoland as well as her home's art studio.
